We are grateful for the journey and hope that our paths will cross again in the future.”Galvanic’s closure is the latest blow in an tough period for the video game industry.Last week, Avalanche Studios Group announced that ‘significant restructuring’ would see 50 employees laid off.Avalanche will shut its New York and Montreal studios, leaving it with locations in Stockholm and Malmo in Sweden, and Liverpool in the UK.Dozens of studios, both independent outfits and larger tentpole developers, have suffered layoffs in 2024.Beyond that, high-profile studios such as Microsoft‘s Tango Gameworks and Arkane Austin have been shut down entirely.
